Medication Management
While not the only way, medications are one way to treat mental health conditions. Pharmaceuticals may be recommended for specific conditions when indicated and my method is always to maintain the lowest effective dose. I’ll explain expected benefits and potential adverse effects and combine medication with other coping strategies for optimal results. I also offer GeneSight testing for clients that have tried multiple medications without success.
Mind-Body Medicine
Mindfulness and meditation helps to regulate the nervous system and ground yourself in the present. This is paramount in coping with uncomfortable emotions and sensations and provides a resting state of calm and peace. These practices also enhance focus, reduce distractibility and, with consistent practice, aid in day-to-day life and situational stressors.
Lab Testing
Routine and specialty lab testing may be indicated and can help discern nutrient and metabolic deficiencies that worsen mental health conditions. This holistic method is crucial in determining root causes of mental disorder. Please let me know if there is a specific concern you have and we can determine the appropriate lab tests.
Lifestyle Coaching
Nutrition, exercise, sleep and social community are the most commonly neglected aspects of traditional psychiatry. We will work together to determine the most effective ways to make small, meaningful steps toward change and improve your overall well-being.
Psychotherapy
Anxiety and depression are two of the most treatable mental health illnesses. Psychotherapy is often indicated in these instances, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based therapies are highly effective in reframing negative thoughts, cultivating more positive thought patterns and identifying and tolerating emotions. Other therapies may also be indicated and can be combined with medication or nutraceuticals.
Nutraceuticals and Nutritional Supplements
Integrative psychiatry recognizes that not every client needs a pharmaceutical medication. Nutraceuticals or other herbal remedies may be recommended with or without medication.
Fees & Insurance
Integrative psychiatry is the most effective way to enact change and progress for the full spectrum of mental health issues. As such, I believe it should be affordable to everyone who wants to make this progress. This is why I’m in-network with most insurance companies (see list below).
Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna/Evernorth, Carelon, First Choice Health, Humana, Kaiser, LifeWise, Medicare, Pacific Source, Regence, TRICARE, United Medical Resources, UnitedHealthcare
For those who are cash-pay, I am happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to insurance for potential reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits. Cash-pay rates are as follows:
INITIAL EVALUATION (60 minutes) - $350
FOLLOW-UP (30 minutes) - $200
FOLLOW-UP (50 minutes) - $300
Please note that follow-ups for medication / nutraceutical management only are typically 30 minutes, while follow-up sessions that include psychotherapy, lifestyle coaching or other integrative modalities are 50 minutes. I may occasionally recommend a 50-minute follow-up to discuss more complex issues, even without psychotherapy.
